Milwaukee Brew City United Debut Among Three Weekend Games

The newly reloaded and rebranded Brew City United (0-2) will take the field on Saturday for the first time since their name change. The boys from Milwaukee will take on the Illinois State Line Falcons (0-3) and it's Guaranteed Win Night. One of these teams will walk out of Grand Sports Arena with their first win of the season.

The weekend's other two games will see the Southern Division's four teams in action. The top three teams in the division, Springfield, Houston, and Wichita, have had some of the wildest games, and only 1 1/2 games separate third place from first place.

Saturday February 4

Brew City United (0-2) at Illinois State Line Falcons (0-3)
Season Series: First meeting

They meet at last. Two of the league's three remaining winless teams square off for the first time. Milwaukee hasn't played since December 17 and have only scored three goals this season in their two games. The Falcons meanwhile scored 10 goals in their last game, albeit in a 14-10 loss to Omaha.

Jose Rodrigo Cruz (six goals, one assist, three games), Diego "El Tanque" Bolanos (2-4-6 in two games), and Damian Bolanos (5-0-5 in three games) lead Illinois.

Austin Emerald (0-4) at Houston Bolt (3-2)
Season Series: Houston leads 2-0

The Austin Emerald, the other MLIS winless team, flirted with victory last game, taking a 5-1 lead into halftime before losing to Springfield 10-6. Houston, trying to keep pace with the Demize, have already beaten Austin twice by scores of 11-5 and 14-4.

Houston's Jeminson Mejia is fourth in MLIS in points (14) and tied for fifth in assists (6). Lucio Martinez is eighth in points (10) and is tied with Mejia in assists (6).

Wichita Selection (1-1) at Springfield Demize (5-2)
Season Series: Tied 1-1

Springfield has been MLIS's most active team with seven games under their belt, while Wichita's schedule has only afforded them two games so far. The teams split a pair of games, with Wichita winning in convincing fashion at home on January 7, 11-1, but on January 14 in Springfield it was the Demize prevailing 8-7, despite four goals and an assist from Selection's Radley Arnold, who is Wichita's points leader (7).

Desmond Williams is third in MLIS with 18 points and is tied for first in assists (9). Dominique Salcedo is second in MLIS in goals with 11.
