Cleveland Crunch Sweep Michigan's MLIS Teams
CLEVELAND DEFEATs Grand Rapids 10-6
(Grand Rapids, Mich.) Dec 17, 2022 - After falling short to the Cincinnati Swerve 9-8 Dec. 10, Cleveland soared to victory tonight with a 10-6 win over Grand Rapids, bringing its record to 1-1.
Crunch goals and assists spanned across the board. Forward Ryan Minick had four goals, midfielder Admir Suljevic brought in two, followed by forward Mario Duvnjak (1), defender Boban Cancar (1), defender Ben Hryszko (1), and defender Chris Cvecko (1). Cancar, Suljevic, Duvnjak and forward MaCain Spragling all had one assist.
Minick earned the MetroHealth ‘Man of the Match’ honor with four goals. The Crunch also welcomed back Suljevic and goalkeeper Marijo Musa to its starting lineup for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
Suljevic was selected to the All-Major Arena Soccer League 2 and Musa was selected as an MASL 2 All-Star for the 2021-22 season. (The Crunch operated within the MASL 2 for two seasons, but departed to join the newly formed Major League Indoor Soccer).

CRUNCH DEFEATS DETROIT WAZA FLO 7-4
(Detroit, Mich) Dec. 18, 2022 - A fast start for the Cleveland Crunch led to a convincing 7-4 victory over the Detroit Waza Flo Dec. 18 at the Detroit City Fieldhouse.
Midfielder Aidan Bozak opened up scoring for the Crunch off a pass from forward Ryan Minick. Team Defender and Captain David Jordan closely followed and put one on the board off a pass from Midfielder Admir Suljevic. Bozak followed up with his second goal, assisted by Suljevic, putting the score at 3-1 at the end of the first.
After a scoreless first quarter for the Detroit Waza Flo, the team held the Crunch in the second. Detroit found the back of the net early in the second, putting the score at 3-1 at the half.
The Crunch came out strong in the third, when Minick found the back of the net off a pass from Jordan at the 11 minute mark, putting the Crunch up 4-1. Suljevic followed suit, putting the Crunch up 5-1 at the end of the third.
Detroit put one on the board early in the fourth, putting the score at 5-2 at the 12:20 mark. Jordan quickly responded for the Crunch, scoring his second of the night. Midfielder Rylan Wikle closed out scoring for the Crunch, putting the lead at 7-2. Detroit found the back of the net twice with three minutes left in the match, putting the final score at 7-4.
Bozak earned the MetroHealth ‘Man of the Match’ honor with two goals.
Cleveland improves to 2-1 and will host the Detroit Waza Flo at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at International Exposition Center in Cleveland for the team’s home opener. The Crunch takes on Rapid City FC the following day, Jan. 29, at 1:00 p.m. to close out the weekend.
