Major League Indoor Soccer Expands to Las Vegas
CHICAGO, Ill. (November 27, 2024) - Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) announced today that Las Vegas has been selected as the home of its newest franchise, set to begin play in the 2025-2026 season.
MLIS Commissioner Bernie Lilavois expressed his enthusiasm about the news. “As the recently named commissioner of the MLIS and a proud member of the Las Vegas community, I am honored to lead this exciting venture,” says Lilavois. “Our ownership group will include a dynamic mix of local business leaders, celebrity personalities and youth sports advocates, all deeply committed to our city.”
This expansion into Las Vegas, following the recent announcement of the Utah Uprising FC, underscores the MLIS' commitment to growing the sport in the western United States. Las Vegas, with its vibrant sports culture and passionate fans, is the perfect place to continue this growth.
“In the coming weeks, we will share more details about our team name, logo, playing venue, and the full roster of our ownership group,” Lilavois added. “We are eager to engage with the community and build a team that Las Vegas can truly embrace. Vegas is home to many amazing sports teams and organizations and we’re grateful to join that growing list and look forward to being a part of the community and supporting it as much as we can."
