The Ball Will Drop in Omaha Saturday to Close Out 2022
There hasn't been a game on the 2023-heavy MLIS schedule since December 18, but that doesn't mean that teams have been taking it easy. The Omaha Kings and Illinois State Line Falcons, in particular, have been training hard for their New Year's Eve brunch game.
Omaha will host Illinois at Off the Wall Soccer for an 11:30am holiday kick-off.
Saturday's game will be the Kings home opener and the Falcons road debut. On December 10, Omaha beat the Brew City Legends 8-0 in Milwaukee and Illinois fell at home to the Chicago Mustangs 7-4, the last night either team played.
"We took advantage of this time to prepare for the game in the best way," said Falcons coach Jesus Flores. "We continued practicing to correct the mistakes of the previous game. We expect a difficult opponent in their home opener and we only know that they play well and that they are a great team."
