EASTERN DIVISION

The Cincinnati Swerve suffered their second straight seven-goal defeat to Grand Rapids, this time by a 9-2 final score...and coming up, on Sunday the Swerve play in Detroit against the winless Waza Flo.

The Cleveland Crunch signed a landmark sponsorship deal with Yuengling Flight to be the Official Beer of the Cleveland Crunch...and coming up, the Crunch home opener is finally here Saturday when Cleveland hosts Detroit at the IX Center, and general admission tickets are already sold out. Premier tickets still remain for Saturday's Zoran Karic jersey retirement. The Crunch are also home Sunday against Grand Rapids.

The Detroit Waza Flo were idle last week...and coming up, Detroit visits Cleveland on Saturday, and then hosts Cincinnati Sunday, giving the 0-3 Waza Flo two more chances to get into the win column.

Rapid City FC continues to have Cincinnati's number. Grand Rapids stomped the Swerve 9-2 behind a Giuseppe Barone hat trick and two goals each from Jacob Potts and Nermin Crnkic...and coming up, Rapid City will head to Cleveland to try to stay atop the Eastern Division and avenge their only loss of the season.

CENTRAL DIVISION

Brew City United was idle last week. 

The Chicago Mustangs dropped another close game to Omaha. The 6-4 loss puts the Mustangs two games behind the Kings in the Central Division. Four different players scored for Chicago....and coming up, the Mustangs get to recharge their batteries, with their next game not taking place until February 18.

The Illinois State Line Falcons were idle last week...and coming up, the Falcons are scheduled to host Omaha on Saturday.

The Omaha Kings beat Chicago again to improve to 4-0. Manuel Lira was once again the hero with two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal. Lira is tied for the MLIS lead with 15 points...and coming up, the Kings try to gain separation in the standings with the 0-2 Falcons on Saturday.

SOUTHERN DIVISION

The Austin Emerald were idle last week...and coming up, the 0-3 Emerald are back in action Saturday when they host Springfield.

The Houston Bolt lost to Springfield 9-6 on Saturday, allowing the game's final four goals after taking a 6-5 lead. Houston got revenge on Sunday with a 6-5 win in the league's first overtime game. Samuel Fielden, who made his MLIS debut the night before, scored the sudden death goal just 10 seconds into overtime on a Jeminson Mejia pass...and coming up, the Bolt will play a rubber match against Springfield on Sunday at home.

The Springfield Demize rallied from a 6-5 deficit to top Houston 9-6 on Saturday. Desmond Williams led all scorers with two goals and two assists. With three more assists Sunday Williams pulled into a tie with Manuel Lira with a league-leading 15 points...and coming up, the Demize stay busy with road games in Austin Saturday and in Houston on Sunday.

The Wichita Selection were idle last week, but re-signed Tommy Fiszel, who missed last season with an ACL injury...and coming up, the Selection are idle until February 4.
