The Week That Was 1/18: Chicago, Cleveland and Boulder Secure Wins

Chicago, Illinois – Monday, January 26, 2026 – This past weekend, the Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) saw victories from the Cleveland Crunch, Boulder United and the Chicago Mustangs.
The action kicked off with a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle in Cleveland and wrapped up in Chicago.
Two other scheduled weekend matchups, Pittsburgh at Toronto on Saturday and Orlando at Dallas on Sunday, were postponed due to anticipated severe weather across the U.S. and will be rescheduled at a later date.
Below is a recap of this past weekend’s matches:
Cleveland Crunch vs. Lansing Red Cedar - Saturday
The Cleveland Crunch rallied from multiple deficits and pulled away late to earn a 10–8 victory over Lansing on Saturday night, closing the match with three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter. Cleveland finished with a 40–22 advantage in shots and was led offensively by Antonio Manfut, who recorded two goals and two assists, while Admir Suljevic added three assists.
The teams traded momentum throughout a high-scoring first three quarters, entering the final period tied 7–7. Jannis Schmidt broke the tie early in the fourth, and goals from Ryan Minick and Rafael Davalos extended Cleveland’s lead before Lansing added a late goal. Gabriel Meireles paced Lansing with a hat trick, but the Crunch’s sustained pressure proved decisive down the stretch.
Orlando Atletico Pro vs. Boulder United FC - Saturday - OT
Orlando and Boulder went toe-to-toe in a fast, physical matchup that needed overtime to decide, with Boulder pulling out a 6–5 win. Orlando opened the scoring early on a goal from Raphael Tobias, but Boulder answered with four straight goals across the second and third quarters to build a 4–1 lead, including a power-play finish from Jovany Herrera.
Orlando stormed back in the fourth with four goals in under nine minutes, highlighted by two from Guilherme Dos Santos and a late go-ahead goal from Tobias, before Boulder tied it with 1:08 left in regulation. In overtime, Ibrahim Alsaaid ended the back-and-forth battle at 5:27, sealing the win after a dramatic night that saw Boulder outshoot Orlando 37–23.
Chicago Mustangs vs. Ft. Wayne Summit City Sentinels - Saturday
Chicago and Ft. Wayne traded goals early, but Chicago found another gear in the third quarter and pulled away for an 8–6 win. After goals from Jorge Ochoa and Martin O’Toole gave Chicago a 2–1 halftime lead, the visitors exploded for four third-quarter goals, highlighted by a natural hat trick from Ochoa and another from Alexis Camarena to take control at 6–2.
Ft. Wayne pushed late with extra-attacker pressure in the fourth, scoring four times and cutting into the deficit, but Chicago answered each surge, including another Camarena goal and Ochoa’s fourth of the night. Chicago finished with an 8–6 victory, outshooting Ft. Wayne 28–24 in a fast-paced, high-scoring matchup.
With the weekend now under wraps, Toronto sits in first in the North Conference at 6-0 and Cleveland trails closely behind at 5-0. Lansing sits in third at 4-4.
In the South Conference, Orlando sits in first at 7-2 with Salt Lake City in second at 4-2 and Amarillo in third at 3-0.
