EASTERN DIVISION

The Cincinnati Swerve rallied from 4-1 down to tie the score in the fourth quarter, but suffered a 6-4 loss on the road in Detroit...and coming up, the Swerve complete their three-game road trip on February 11 in Cleveland.

What a weekend for the Cleveland Crunch! The Crunch opened the home portion of their schedule with a standing room only sellout and an 8-0 shutout of Detroit Saturday. Then Sunday's near-capacity crowd featured the highest scoring game in MLIS history - a 16-9 Cleveland win over Rapid City FC. Admir Suljevic had 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in the two games...and coming up, the 4-1 first place Crunch are off until they host the Swerve on February 11.

The Detroit Waza Flo made it a little too interesting, squandering a 4-1 lead against Cincinnati Sunday night before Silas Rustin broke the 4-4 tie at 6:09 of the fourth quarter. Rustin's hat trick enabled the Waza Flo to pick up their first win of the season in five tries...and coming up, Detroit heads back out on the road to Grand Rapids on February 11.

Rapid City FC had plenty of offense against Cleveland Sunday, but nine goals is not very many when you're allowing 16 in the highest scoring game in MLIS history. Daire Orierban had a hat trick in his first game and Nermin Crnkic added three goals...and coming up, Rapid City will host Detroit on February 11.

CENTRAL DIVISION

Brew City United was idle last week.

The Chicago Mustangs were idle last week....and coming up, the Mustangs get to recharge their batteries, with their next game not taking place until February 18.

The Illinois State Line Falcons scored the most goals in a loss in MLIS history. The Falcons 14-10 loss to the Omaha Kings on Saturday was the second highest scoring game in MLIS history until Cleveland and Grand Rapids rewrote the record book the next day. Jose Rodrigo Cruz and Damian "El Tanque" Bolanos had hat tricks for Rockford...and coming up, the Falcons are scheduled to host Milwaukee on Saturday.

The Omaha Kings and Manuel Lira kept rolling. Omaha's 14-10 win over Illinois was powered in part by four goals from Lira. Tomaz Rossi and Jeff Sumaili each had a hat trick as Omaha improved to 5-0...and coming up, the Kings will host Milwaukee on February 18.

SOUTHERN DIVISION

The Austin Emerald had their first win in their sights, but a 5-1 lead wasn't enough to hold off the Springfield Demize, who went on a 9-1 run to win 10-6....and coming up, the 0-4 Emerald return to Houston on Saturday.

The Houston Bolt had their game against Springfield totally in hand with a 6-1 lead in the second quarter, but by halftime the lead had shrunk to 6-4. Ultimately, for the second straight meeting, Houston and Springfield went to overtime, and this time Houston came up short in sudden death, 9-8. Houston fell to 3-2, a game behind 5-2 Springfield...and coming up, the Bolt will look to right the ship when they host 0-4 Austin on Saturday.

The Springfield Demize had the craziest weekend of all. Down 5-1 in Austin Springfield flipped the switch and went on a 9-1 run to win 10-6. The next night in Houston, the Demize found themselves in a deeper 6-1 hole against the then-3-1 Bolt and pulled off an even bigger Houdini escape. Springfield won 9-8 in overtime to improve to 5-2...and coming up, the Demize host Wichita Saturday.

The Wichita Selection were idle last week...and coming up, the Selection return to Springfield for another epic Southern Division clash.
