THE WEEK THAT WAS 2/1: Top-Ranked Showdowns Shake Up MLIS Standings in South and North

This weekend featured key matchups among the top two teams in the Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) North and South Conference standings.
In the South Conference, the Amarillo Bombers defeated Orlando Atletico Pro twice, winning 11-5 on Friday and 8-7 on Saturday. The victories improved Amarillo’s record to 7-0, while Orlando fell to 7-4.
In the North Conference, Cleveland Crunch and Toronto Canadian Crusaders, both entering the weekend 6-0, played a single match that Toronto won 7-5. The win moved Toronto to 7-0 and dropped Cleveland to 6-1.

Amarillo Bombers vs. Orlando Atletico Pro – Feb. 6
Amarillo defeated Orlando 11-5 in the first game of the weekend series, taking control early with a four-goal first period. Cleberson Rodrigues, Emanuel Celaya and Jose Lopez each contributed key goals, while Orlando’s Raphael Tobias scored three times, including a penalty kick. Amarillo maintained a steady lead throughout, extending the advantage in the fourth period to secure the win.
Orlando Atletico Pro vs. Amarillo Bombers – Feb. 7
Amarillo narrowly defeated Orlando 8-7 in the second game of their weekend series. The match featured multiple lead changes, with Luis Esteban scoring three goals for Amarillo and Tobias contributing three goals and one assist for Orlando.
Toronto Canadian Crusaders vs. Cleveland Crunch – Feb. 7
Toronto defeated Cleveland 7-5 in a closely contested North Conference matchup. Cleveland held an early 3-1 lead, but Toronto surged in the third period with four unanswered goals, led by Yonis Jama’s three goals and one assist. Toronto outshot Cleveland 45-20 and maintained the lead through the fourth period to move to 7-0, while Cleveland fell to 6-1.
Dallas CD La Cuadra vs. Boulder United FC Halo – Feb. 7
Boulder defeated Dallas 10-2, overcoming an early deficit to control the remainder of the match. Jovany Herrera led Boulder with two goals, while Rudy Medina and Luis Reyes each recorded a goal and an assist. Boulder outshot Dallas 42-21 and extended the lead in every period after tying the game in the second.
Ft. Wayne Summit City Sentinels vs. Chicago Mustangs – Feb. 7
Chicago defeated Ft. Wayne 9-6 in a high-scoring matchup, overcoming an early 1-0 deficit. Andy Tobar and Christopher Coria each contributed multiple goals for Chicago, while Ft. Wayne’s Eddy Yousak and Richard Faleye scored two goals apiece. Chicago outshot Ft. Wayne 41-14 and gradually pulled away in the second and third periods to secure the win.
Pittsburgh Bridge City FC vs. Lansing Red Cedar – Feb. 7
Pittsburgh defeated Lansing 18-8 in a high-scoring matchup. Pittsburgh built an early lead, outscoring Lansing 10-1 by halftime, and extended the advantage through the third and fourth periods. Nathan Dragisich, Matthew Teitelbaum and Austin Rocke each contributed multiple goals, helping Pittsburgh dominate offensively. Both teams recorded 21 shots through the game, but Pittsburgh converted more efficiently, improving their season standing.
