The Week That Was 3/2: MLIS Finals Take Shape: Amarillo and Cleveland Secure Playoff Spots

Chicago, Illinois - This weekend’s matches delivered plenty of excitement as the 2026 Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) Finals take shape. 
The Amarillo Bombers secured the first spot in the 2026 MLIS playoffs from the South Conference, while the Cleveland Crunch claimed the last berth from the North Conference.
Salt Lake City Utah Uprising handed Amarillo their first loss of the season, keeping the race for the final berth spot from the South Conference open. 
Here’s a recap of this weekend’s matches:
Amarillo vs. Las Vegas - March 7
15-4 Final (Amarillo)
Amarillo set the pace early with three first-period goals, led by Pedro Francisco Castaneda’s two scores. Kike Canez and Miguel Reyes added multiple goals in the second, giving the Bombers an 8-2 lead by halftime. Amarillo continued to extend the margin in the second half and finished with 23 shots on goal.
Ft. Wayne vs. Pittsburgh - March 7
14-2 Final (Pittsburgh)
Pittsburgh Bridge City FC cruised to a 14-2 victory over the Ft. Wayne Summit City Sentinels on March 7 at Sewickley Sports Arena. Pittsburgh jumped to an early 8-0 lead in the first period, with Jamie Luchini scoring three times and Jack Shearer adding two goals. Ft. Wayne managed only a single goal in the second before Pittsburgh continued to dominate, with Nathan Dragisich scoring three in the second half. Ft. Wayne added a late penalty-kick goal, but Ft. Wayne was outshot 44-29.
Cleveland vs. Chicago - March 7
9-8 Final (Cleveland)
The Cleveland Crunch held off the Chicago Mustangs 9-8 on March 7. Cleveland jumped to an early 4-1 lead in the first period, with David Jordan scoring twice and Admir Suljevic adding a goal and two assists. Chicago battled back in the second and third periods, narrowing the gap with Jorge Ochoa and Alex Filian contributing multiple goals. Cleveland maintained the lead despite Chicago scoring twice in the final minute, including a shootout goal by Ochoa. The Crunch outshot the Mustangs 26-19, with Suljevic finishing with six points to lead all scorers.
Orlando vs. Dallas - March 7
10-5 Final (Dallas)
Dallas CD La Cuadra defeated Orlando Atletico Pro FC 10-5 on March 7 at TOCA Soccer, taking control early and maintaining the lead throughout. Dallas led 4-0 by halftime, with  Dylan Perez and Jose Puche each scoring multiple goals, including a first-half shootout goal by Perez. Orlando mounted a late rally in the third and fourth periods, with Alan Moran, Eduardo Cruz and Rafael Luyo contributing, but Dallas responded quickly to extend the margin. Gregorio Colmenares and Perez each finished with three goals, helping Dallas outshoot Orlando 13-12.
Amarillo vs. Salt Lake City - March 8
10-11 Final (Salt Lake City)
The Salt Lake City Utah Uprising rallied late to defeat the Amarillo Bombers 11-10 on March 8 at Sport City Utah in a back-and-forth match. Amarillo built an early 5-2 lead by halftime, with Cleberson Rodrigues and Celaya each contributing multiple goals. Utah responded in the second half, erasing the deficit and taking the lead in the final minute on a goal by Steve Jasso. Both teams combined for 58 shots, with Salt Lake City outshooting Amarillo 36-22.
Boulder vs. Las Vegas - March 8
8-5 Final (Boulder)
Boulder United FC Halo pulled away in the second period to defeat the Las Vegas Turf Monsters 8-5 on March 8 at Big League Dreams. After trading early goals to tie 2-2 in the first period, Boulder scored four times in the second to take a 6-3 lead. Las Vegas made runs in the third and fourth periods, but Boulder countered with late goals from Brayan Aguirreand Oscar Gonzalez-Juarez to secure the victory. Boulder outshot Las Vegas 24-20.
Boulder vs. Las Vegas - March 8
8-3 Final (Boulder)
Boulder United FC Halo overcame an early deficit to defeat the Las Vegas Turf Monsters 8-3 on March 8. Las Vegas struck first, but Boulder responded with three second-period goals to take the lead. Boulder added a power-play goal in the third and four more in the fourth, including late scores from  Ely Ramos and Tyler Fabian, to secure the win.
