MLIS/WMLIS TO HOST OWNERS MEETING IN CHICAGO JUNE 1
Chicago, Ill, May 29, 2024 - It’s that time of year, where the Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) men’s and women’s teams gather to prepare for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Team owners will gather at the Hyatt Place in Rosemont, Ill., from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. June 1 to discuss the current state of the league and set goals for the future.
Among the topics of discussion are the season length, playoff structure and rule changes. Owners will also be free to discuss topics not on the agenda.
The 2024-25 season will be the first year the MLIS will include a women’s division. The organization announced the addition of a women's league in March, which drew a positive response.
“June 1st marks a pivotal moment for the MLIS as we gather to discuss the league's future,” says MLIS Commissioner Dominic Turcotte. “I am especially thrilled to announce the launch of our women's league this year. This addition reflects our dedication to inclusivity and the growth of the sport.”
Amongst other important news, the league announced in late March that it has acquired the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL), which includes the addition of its men’s and women’s divisions to the MLIS/WMLIS. The league will award a $25,000 prize for each of its men's and women's division championship winners, totaling $50,000 for the 2024-2025 season*.
